TV Remote for Sonos
Control your Sonos speakers directly from your Apple TV using the Siri Remote. The app communicates directly over your local network and discovers your speakers automatically.
Requirements
- Apple TV running tvOS 17.0 or later
- Sonos speakers on the same local Wi-Fi network (S2 system)
- No Sonos account or cloud connection needed
Getting Started
- Make sure your Apple TV and Sonos speakers are on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Open TV Remote Sonos on your Apple TV.
- The app will automatically discover your Sonos speakers.
- Select a speaker to view now-playing info and control playback.
Troubleshooting
No speakers found
- Verify your Apple TV and Sonos speakers are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- When prompted, allow the app to access your local network.
- Restart the app and wait a few seconds for discovery to complete.
- Restart your Sonos speaker if it still doesn't appear.
Playback controls not responding
- Make sure the speaker is powered on and reachable on the network.
- Try selecting the speaker again from the speaker list.
- Check that another app or controller hasn't taken exclusive control.
Volume not changing
- Use the Siri Remote to adjust volume within the app.
- Confirm the speaker isn't muted: the app shows a mute indicator when active.
Album art not loading
- Album art availability depends on the music service. Some sources don't provide artwork.
- Verify your Apple TV has a working network connection.
